There is for sure a Katusha rider in the peloton, saw someone said it was Zakarin but no confirmation on eurosport. Can anyone confirm it's 100% him ?

Seems like that's Trofimov. Paolini dropped back to help Zakarin.

Whatever happens it seems that Kreuziger will have about 5 minutes on the favorites. Can't understand why Sky and Astana let the margin grow so much. Sure they had guys in the break, but not someone as strong as Kreuziger.
maybe they wanted to check if olga will command his troops to chase. they should have, and tinkoff did ride.

but it beats me how kreuziger was let go to begin with. peloton now at 5min30. is that a reliable gap? it was 7 and a half just a moment ago.

Sounds even better than the York-Sheffield stage last year.

When they decide to race these medium mountain stages, they can be very dramatic and selective.

It's better then york-sheffield last year. These huge breaks are always great.

Have the first two groups on the road merged? (hard to keep up with so much going on!)

Edit: It would seem so. The GPS time gaps are really poor.

Nice to see the standard Giro mountain categorization. If you can breathe going up, it's not a classified climb.

This stage would have been the queen stage of the 2012 Tour :p
