Uran is where he should be. No serious Giro contender goes too deep in Romandie anymore.

Last year he was 20th in the Romandie mountain stage more than 3 minutes behind Froome and Spilak.

And what did he do in giro?

I'm talking to the guys who seriously think he can content for the giro who are present in this forum

As mentioned, there is only one challenge to Contador and that is Uran.

Porte will blow up sometime - that's a given.
Aru is not there yet

Contador and Uran will be 1st and 2nd and there won't be much in it.

That is very accurate statement and I think Contador will need a good buffer before the long TT as I believe that currently Uran has the upper hand and is capable of putting couple of minutes into Contador.

Yep. Before the TT Contador will have a good buffer on his main rivals I would think. Following the TT it will be close and then Uran will get better in the third week, and that is where the race will be won. The TT will have a big say in who wins. Even though Contador is good at time trials when on form, Uran has the edge there. I expect Porte to blow up sometime late in the second week/early third week but he'll still manage to get 3rd or 4th.

Uran has close to 0% chance of beating Contador.

Uran Giro results so far:35/7/2/2 Still better chances then Richie from this perspective. As a plus he's already proven as a GT leader, while Richie hopefully will show it this Giro.Uran should not be dismissed so easily.

Zakat in may be a good pick for an early maglia rosa until after the itt, before he will fade away in the last 1 1/2 weeks.

Nothing wrong with that though. It's better for him to race a good early Giro and maybe hang on for a top 10 spot, than to follow wheels and fade away in the end anyway. It's a good approach for his first gt as a leader from my pov.

Trofimov has no chance for a top 10. He led them two years ago, without much success. Certainly Zak has to become the captain here!

Uran has shown us the level he can reach, that level is well below Contador near his best. There is much more uncertainty about what Porte can really do, so he might go to a new level. It is highly unlikely he can beat Contador near his best, but more likely than Uran who is less likely to be able to improve his performances.

Contador could crash or not be any good or ... which might take him out of contention.

Based on what? When has uran done something that can be considered he's ready to win against Contador?

Being colombian?

Agreed. We don't know what Porte can do if everything goes well. Of course that's a big if. On the other hand, Uran certainly doesn't have the level to beat Contador.

It's more likely that Porte beats Contador than Uran beats Contador. At the same time, Uran will likely beat Porte.

who says we will see the best contador?

He wasn't the best contador in the vuelta last year and he crushed uran.

Uran hasn't even proven enough to conclude that he can beat any kinda contador.
