Now we're seeing the kimd of gaps everyone expected on the Zoncolan. Excellent race.

Not really surprising, the hardest climbs don't make the biggest gaps, look at Fuente 2012.

Suppose yates is the only one who has had the guts to attack this Giro, knowing where his weakness is (TT), he has decided to gain as much as possible when possible.

You guys really think Dumoulin would not ride if he was strong? He’s cooked like the rest and realize they all need to work together.
He was very passive and that will not inspire the others to ride along. As a primary contender, you *have* to show your good intention, and *then* the others may work along.

Plus, why do you let Oomen work the climb before that? Very stupid riding by Sunweb and Dumoulin.

That is because this year design is perfect, Zoncolan hard stage to tire legs, then proper hard well designed Sappada stage.

Definitely. That and the fact that the climbers feel they have to attack Doumolin.

DT is right. Yates just too strong.

Also this stage goes to show how non-dimensional a rider froome is. The moment it is not a w/kg winching match, he is completely useless (unless unca Brian is at the Helm)

I think it's a problem with being such a one-trick pony. If everyone knows you will exclusively ride to tempo on the climbs and destroy everyone in the TTs, they can exploit that pretty easily with some cooperation between them. The element of surprise from last year has well and truly gone.
