So much for Kelderman taking a ninja approach to this Giro with his team on the front.

De Gendt is a meme. I know it's how he likes to ride and he obviously gets some success but it so often is bafflingly timed

(just waiting for the pack to soft pedal and him to bridge successfully so i look truly moronic...)

Rubio in a seat being led by De Gendt (defending Caretera's position of course)

Why? He tried relentlessly to get in the break but failed. Lotto managed to put a man in the break so he sat in the peloton.
As soon as his teammate dropped from the break he attacked, giving Lotto another shot at a stage win, since the gap to the break was kinda small at that point.

Those riders in the break have been on the front for 150+ km, so they sure are more tired than him. To me it makes sense.

It's hardly super pace behind and with weaker teams it should have been more chaotic

If De Gendt manages to rest a bit when catches the breakaway, maybe he'll have a chance to hit the descent in front of the bunch.
If...
