Sagan should be DQ'ed for recklessly blocking Demare, going from one side of the road to the other.

It's not blocking, but it's also not sprinting in a straight line (and Démare had absolutely no need to veer that far off his line).

Sagan should probably just legally change his name to Arnaud Demare. That way he can still win by coming in second.

A bit irregular sprint by Démare and it simply looked like Sagan did not want to risk a crash in case Démare closed him. Not a DSQ ofcourse, but I think Sagan could have won this with more courage. The other day when Démare won on Sicily ahead of Sagan, it also wasn't a matter of strength but rather that Sagan had the wind against him.

Despite being French and liking Demarre, I also like Sagan a lot and feel he really deserves a win in this race. His sprints are cleaner than in the TDF, while for this one Demarre is sketchy. He should be carefull in next ones, comissars won't always accept this.

Well this isn't the first time Demare was all over the road when sprinting. Lucky for him he isn't Sagan so he won't get relegated.

Sagan and Matthews ?????

Not wining much

Consistent but not winning machines. They are there. Demare is just better atm. Even though that wasnt a great sprint.

What has happened to Gaviria though? That is someone who really is a shadow of himself these days.

''Riders shall be strictly forbidden to deviate from the lane they selected when launching into the sprint and, in so doing, endangering others".

Clear as day what should happen here.....

He was better than I expected but Ballerini is a better option currently
The fact that 5th in this field is better than expected, combined with his climbing 'skills', shows why he isn't good enough to lead Deceuninck in the sprints. Only reason to keep him is the uncertainty regarding Jakobsen's recovery.

Where's the consistency in this?
It should either be considered regular and not punished or considered irregular and lead to punishment.
But OK if you do it once but not OK if you do it 3 times?
(I know that's how it's done but it's WRONG).

Not enough to DQ Demare, but clearly it wasnt a clean sprint by his side. Sagan could have been close if Demare had not blocked him.

Hard to really argue he was endangering others

Alvaro sigh. I really fear for his place at DQS.
I was really surprised they still had faith in him after so many 2nds and failure. Ballerini is a much better option.

Anyway, their sprint train failed again. Used up all the leadouts before 2km to go and no one delivered their sprinter to best possible position. It was like Cav time.
