But where is he now? Can't seem to spot him in the break yet...

Big gaps but I don´t think they dropped any of the leaders.
Vanhoucke wasn't in the first group (for the 10th time this Giro), he's back now though.
I don't know if he's not feeling well, maybe his shoulder is acting up after his crashes, but if he wants to go for a GC Lotto needs to start keeping him at the front, cause he could've been at 30 min in GC right now if other GC riders thought he was a threat.

Maybe it is not the steepest climbs left.

But there isnt much ”rest” left on this stage. And it is still 70-80km to go. And it is 9th day. It doesnt take much more than a slightly higher pace for it to get pretty hard for some riders. We have seen riders crack out of seemingly nowhere so far in this race. Maybe it will happen today too.

Oh just realised Ruben is wearing that hideous jersey..... Now I'm not sure who I want to win the stage.

Peloton have not gained anything in the last 40 km. No strong teams.
They haven't lost anything either. They're not worried about Castro, don't care about the stage and they'll pull back a few minutes in the end anyway

Come on Peter, feign an injury, say you've got rona, Flanders is next weekend you know you want to.

Future stages will tell whether it was a mistake to let Castro get such a big gap.

I wouldn't exclude him completely with a longer time trial coming up and none of the climbers seem to be at the Slovenians level.

Sagan right now: I skipped the classics because I did not want to race in rainy and cold conditions...
