Just going by the pictures and the feelings it kinda looks like the riders between McNulty and Carapaz had the worst conditions as they basically rode with the rain while the guys before had less rain and for the last guys (mainly Ayuso and Del Toro) it had already dried significantly especially on the descent, which helped a lot although they arrived in rain.
But hard to say overall, at least no one had to leave the race.

Ayuso has more experience, having been a professional for four years, and this is his fourth GT.
Ayuso had mediocre time trials in his first GTs.

Del Toro's problem today was pressure and inexperience in the rain.
Like I said for the 3rd time now. It's because UAE never cared to fine tune Toro's TT setup. If you watched the stage you could see that Toro wasn't comfortable riding aero, always breaking his posture every 10-15 seconds. Lastly I never said that Toro is bad, I don't know where you got that feeling from :tearsofjoy:

He barely won anything? He also was never out of contention;

He did best out of all the GC guys and took considerable time a quite a few riders (Bernal, Carapaz, Del Toro). In these conditions, it's good enough.

And putting time into Ayuso (you know, his main rival according to pre race betting odds) is always good as well.

The one good thing about the TT is that it's meant to be honest in its results. The weather turning it into a tombola takes that away. Also doesn't help that a lot of big names (understandably) don't go all out in this weather.
You can‘t see the watts being pushed in the dry, here at least you could view what was happening (corners), from a viewing perspective this was better.

It's not the first time Ayuso and Tarling doesn't pace themselves just saying

It's not just the rain. It's pacing as well.

A bit of luck for Roglic, which was warranted of course. He had the best circumstances of the GC contenders. Ayuso, Tiberi, and Yates did great, the others, not so much.

Hoole had quite a bit of luck as well, but we'll take it. Finally a decent Dutch time trialist again, it's been a while.

Wow Del Toro was super cautious with cornering. Watching him I’m honestly shocked he didn’t lose more time to Ayuso
