This is "all in" for Rogla against the UAE duo.
Big gains and he's got the upper hand again.
Little gains and he's gotta stomp at every MTF.
No gain or losing time again and his Giro could almost be already lost to UAE, considering also the strenght of his Bora (which is zero except Pellizzari).

Not good timing for a TT stage. Post rest day always messes up a few GC riders. Expect Roglic to make up some time but will it be enough against a much stronger team ? Interested to see what Bernal can do. Will WVA have another good day ?

Good thing Red Bull came in, otherwise we might be looking at this

If Hindley hadn't crashed they could have sacrificed him and let Pellizzari stay with Ayuso at least. But contrary to UAE Bora never had that option.

Del Toro claimed he pulled for 4 minutes because he "thought Bernal was Ayuso." Great stuff, this Giro really kicked up a notch at the weekend.

Be interesting to see if Tarling has lost a few watts, done a lot of riding in the past 9 days and is inexperienced, could ask his dad if you lot didn't chase him off like some sort of witch. Then again it's after the rest day so he should be ok, most entertaining outcome is probably Del Toro beating Ayuso.

Quite amazing, he must be white/yellow/blue/red colourblind.

Seriously, for reals? I mean "Haha" if true. That's pretty legendary.

Let's hope Ayuso's girlfriend never makes the same mistake eh.

Yeah, brilliant isn't it, 'Juan Ayuso? Yeah he's my teammate, he's that little brown lad wearing the Colombian champions jersey'

In an interview with Eurosport, Isaac del Toro said that after the crash, he mistook Egan Bernal for Juan Ayuso for a long time because of the white jerseys they were both wearing. In any case, the situation couldn't be better for the UAE-Team Emirates with del Toro leading, Ayuso 1:12 behind Roglic, and McNulty and Adam Yates 8th and 9th #GirodItalia

Oh this is good. I was never one to truly buy into the intra UAE soap operas but this is excellent stuff.

Now we just need Ayuso to drop Del Toro next week and claim he thought the pink jersey was Egan Bernal. Or Rog. Or Pope Francis.

Or Simon Yates. Or Carapaz. So many contenders are former maglia rosa wearers, it must be really confusing to him.

And if Del Toro crashes, Ayuso can say he saw something pink on the ground but thought it was an EF rider or cotton candy.

We have 3 of the main favourites within 3 minutes of each other.
Really interesting part of the start list.

Extreme weather warning issued for Pisa tomorrow afternoon due to heavy rain, let's hope that the roads will still be rideable for the last starters.

I think the rain should make things more equal between riders, but Tarling is still my favourite with Van Aert and Vacek also with a chance.

Among the GC riders I think Roglič should be the fastest but I don't expect big gaps. Del Toro to narrowly beat Ayuso and be the best second GC rider.

Arguably with how weak his team is looking for the mountains a small deficit would actually be a simpler situation than a small lead with UAE firing off riders 1 after the other until 1 breaks the resistance.

He does need to at least pull back k some time tomorrow to reset and get some momentum.

Rain will make things complicated. Those who will ride in better conditions will win. But at least van Aert and Tarling will ride simulteneously and GC guys withount much time differense too.

The rain complicates things massively in terms of the Stage winner.

If the forecasts I’ve seen are correct (that’s a big “if”) then the rain will intensify from 2pm onwards and not ease.

The earliest real contender to begin is Affini at 1:55pm. Tarling and WVA begin about 40 mins later.

If Affini is the only one to ride some of the course dry then he will be almost a certainty (currently available at 12-1).

If conditions are “fair” then Tarling deserves to be the heavy favourite that he is.
