UAE still controlling the break. But does look like controlling Fortunato for GC purposes, not for the stage.

I wonder why UAE are riding so hard as its unlikely they will drop Roglic on this terrain. Better to hold your bullets for later in the race.

EF, Lidl, Visma - and others, will be interested in reeling the break in, but for now they are content with UAE doing the work, as long as the time gap does not go out... but the last 30K the race will be on IMO.

Well there needs to be a railway next to the route.
I couldn't work out if it was a happy coincidence it was there, it seemed quite happy to be there following them, or they planned it and blocked the line all day waiting for the cyclists to turn up :)

It was painted especially for the Giro and had the actual Giro trophy in a window - of course it was planned mate :p

The problem is UAE has 4 riders stronger than Pellizzari. Roglic will probably be alone against 4 UAE in stage 16.
I would think at least 2 to 1, probably 3 to 1. I'm not yet sold in del Toro being there in week 3. But Majka looks near his peak domestique form. If Martinez is not having an all-time turnaround this will be a problem. But they can bet on UAE playing it passive and wrong I guess.

Strange riding, surely just knock the pace off and ride it in, if they let it go then maybe they can get someone else to pull.

Or you just ride a steady tempo like this and come in 4 minutes behind? Don't see the problem with what they are doing. It's their 8th man doing the work...

Gap going out a little, if they have 3 minutes at the top of this one, the peloton may let them go.

Less than 3 I would still bet on the teams with good punchuers working to reel them in.

San Pellegrino was great with the tempo there but i kinda made the stage more boring than what we would've seen with more guys left in the break.
