Look how Toro isnt disrupting them, letting them drill it. Deep inside he wants them to increase the gap and maybe hopefully, wishfully outride UAE.

Del Toro could be doing exactly that without UAE *** tactics.
Del Toro also should not be doing this. He’s just not feeling his legs and wanted to disrupt the attackers but they still went for it. UAE has everything under control.

Do they? If they don't catch them on the descend, and the group works together in front, than it'll be really hard to catch them. Multiple attackers have teammates up front.

Edit: it's not a big gap though, but wel'll see how it goes .

Lol, you have the Maglia Rosa sitting with the some Guys that are neither the absolute pre-race favorites or the closest contenders to him at the moment.

Of course he should be sitting here. And of course UAE shouldnt be doing this.

It was silly for Del Toro to follow Bernal initially, it's not his rival and he could've used his team there, follow Carapaz yes, but once he's ahead surely don't chase him.

He could gain a lot if it wasn't his stupid team. His two closest rivals were in the group behind

I think it's better for UAE to keep things under control, if they can, rather than taking risks with 90 km left. If Del Toro had crashed or had a mechanical while the racing was on, it would have been stupid if only Arrieta was with him (it could also have happened before they had caught up with G2). He is not the one who has to gain time on anyone at the moment.

The two strongest teams in the race, Ineos and UAE, are both tactically inept in their own special way. That makes it quite exciting but also quite frustrating to watch.

I don't like Visma's Simon 2.0.
He went from an exciting and attacking rider to wheelsucker.
Maybe he doesn't have the legs, but the Simon we knew would join Bernal's move.

Life is a risk. The reward was too big. Ayuso would just follow Redbull behind.
