Don't know if it's true but I read on Twitter that the entire podium Today consists of guys who are from the same region. Zijlaard, Van Uden and Kooij all being from around Rotterdam. Having a podium of one nationality is already quite something but this is quite nuts.
Shocked to read anyone still uses Twitter, but yes; Kooij is from Numansdorp. Van Uden is from Schiedam and Zijlaard from Rotterdam (his aunt Leontine van Moorsel lives in Nieuwerkerk ad IJssel). Its all within 20 km from Rotterdam.

This is beautiful, these guys must have raced together a lot as well since they're from the same generation.

And yes, I refuse to call that social media by its *** new name. Still have a burner account there to find some info on certain topics where it can be informative.

Pedersen seemed to be doing more of the pushing than Kanter, nonsensical relegation.
Rewatch it, Kanter insists on trying to get the wheel, and moved his line a couple of times fairly hard trying to knock Pedersen off, which didn't work. 50/50 choice for officials, bumping and banging didn't cause a crash, didn't disrupt anyone else's line, no outcome on the finish.
Excellent work by all top 5,6 riders to get to the finish, especially impressive was Olav Kooij, who was in traffic against right railing and moved way left, jumped on gas pedal and finished excellent. He looked fastest of the bunch but picked bad line,
Del Toro up 1 on GC, and shaved a couple of seconds. UAE with 4th,5th and 6th McNulty riding good again today. Pedersen on the pavement, in trouble multiple times, he chased perfectly and his positioning in final kilometers with multiple choke points was impressive. Mads with his ability to conquer modest climbs crush in sprints is absolutely amazing..

This stage was very chaotic in the last 30 km and delivered nothing in entertainment. In fact, only the gravel stage will be interesting in this first week.
Del Toro got 4 seconds, is he UAE's secret weapon?
I hope so, would be amazing if they try to put pressure on Bora and Roglic by trying different tactics with 3 different riders/leaders. Only way they will win, because just going head to head, they’ll lose
