I don't think they dropped the sprinters (esp. Groves) sufficiently to keep them from returning. Only the last 5 km of that climb were suitable for attacking, but noone bothered anyways.

Not sure about it if UAE keeps drilling it.
They just needed to go 1 km earlier and even Pedersen would be in trouble. They're such a strong team and have used zero resources thus far.

If it was flat all the way I'd agree, but the stage profile says up and down all the way to the finish, which is an uphill sprint.
