To be honest, I can see why a team like UAE would be conservative on a day like this. The stage really isn't that hard and there is a much better opportunity to use your team against Roglic a day later. I think it's peobably smarter to conserve energy. If they don't do anything on Sunday however, I will join the complaining

Today is low risk high reward. Tomorrow is just expected chaos no matter what anyway.

As long as their rivals do the work for them, they can be conservative and rest as much as they want.
UAE has two riders on the podium without any work from their domestiques.

Neither Bahrain nor Ineos should have worked yesterday. It was surprising to see how they did all the work.
First Bahrain, then INEOS. Bernal shouldn't have closed the gap to Ciccone when there were two riders from the same team. Del Toro should´ve closed that gap, and Bernal should´ve been on Ayuso's wheel.

If Bernal, Tiberi, and others want a podium finish at the Giro, their teams can´t do the work that UAE should do.
Yates and McNulty haven't worked in seven days. If they don't work, Del Toro won't work, and he can continue his aspirations while Pello Bilbao and Arensmann do his work.

Furthermore, some people are convinced that Roglic didn't win yesterday due to strategy. That is, he wore his team down for 100km to favor Ayuso. UAE doesn't need domestiques
Obviously, I don´t share that point of view.

McNuggets and Vine should get in the break today. Del Toro can save himself for tomorrow.

Honoré and Rafferty are allowed to join the break, according to the former.

Plapp: Everyone apart from [Harper] will try today

Not sure about Vaček but McNulty or Scaroni are great picks for today.

Roglic will be hoping to dump off the jersey again. Possible on a stage like this.
I'd think so too, but they brought up an interesting point in the Cycling Podcast, saying that Bora would likely want to remain a good position in the convoy for tomorrow. So while they may be interested in giving away the jersey, they probably don't want multiple teams/riders to get past them - which could be difficult to balance correctly.
