They call it the Ventoux though. (Paris Nice organisation did)

This stage is turning out to be a lot more interesting than it looked at the bottom of the Mortirolo.

Yes... It's called promotion. They can market the race as having a finish on the Ventoux. Just not the 'actual' Ventoux.
