I hope these 7 stages that SBS in Australia are going to show will be spread accross the exciting stages over the last 2 weeks because they have nothing but 6am highlights on their second channel for the first week.

Okay, so live tv coverage will begin at 14:30, will finish at approx. 17:30.

It's hard to believe that I'm actually going to spend a very nice sunday afternoon watching a solitary man ride his bike for about 120 flat kilometers, only to be be caught, and then witness 10 mins of moderately exciting riding. All the while I will be listening to two Belgians yak about a bunch of meaningless rubbish.

I just might be insane.

Its so ridiculous!!!!

I have foxtel and we get Eurosport coverage which is at least SOME of every stage which is good :) but the SBS coverage is shocking

I have a feeling that live will be late.
Even Rai Sport 1 hasn't gone over yet.
Eurosport HD repeating the TTT.

Today's route, I have to say is really dull and featureless.
The start and finish are OK.
Could be siesta time.

Quite surprising that none of the italian teams wanted TV-time today. But I guess oscuro italiano will show up later this week.

Oscuro. \o/

Oh the drama with him last year. :D

Everybody live, except Eurosport, who are on an ad break again.

I wonder what Lang is doing. Is he calculating his taxes, maybe, or perhaps composing a letter to his mother?

I believe SBS is ony doing 4 stages live. 9, 14, 20, 21. Although all of the Tour of California is live

Edit: Yes only 4 stages live.......http://www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/news/24406/Giro-d-Italia-LIVE-on-SBS

He knows it's impossible? They'll just ride him off at the end and then it will be a sprint....

So this is what I don't like, I realise there coverage is way better than we have ever had it but its this continual changing and/or lying. At the end of P-R they said they were going to have 7 stages live - now its 4?

They did the same last year, trumpeted live stages and never shown any.

Giro D'Italia: Stage 3: Reggio Emilia - Rapallo 173 Kms

After the longest stage of the Giro, starting from Reggio Emilia (where the Tricolore was created) the peloton heads towards the Ligurian coast, with a parcour that resembles a Milano-Sanremo (though it's almost half as long:p).
tappa_dettagli_tecnici_altimetria_03.jpg

The first climb will be the 3rd cat. Passo del Bocco (very similar to the Primavera's Passo del Turchino). After that, a long, technical descent will lead the riders to the "real" problem of the day, the climb to Madonna delle Grazie (4th cat.), 3kms @ 6,4%. After this climb, a descent and another small bump, 4 kms before the finish, in the coastal town of Rapallo (not far from where I live :), so I could go watch it).

I'll be very surprised if a sprinter can survive to this. Breakaway FTW. Otherwise, a puncheur should get the victory.

OK, it's deadly dull, but Eurosport are taking my will to live.
7 ad breaks in the 50 minutes of live coverage.

Seppel Lang does the longest TT of his life. :D

At least he is a very stylish cyclist to watch. Could be worse....
