Looked like Cadel was going to be down on luck when Kohler went out, and as it turns out he may just have the buffer to stay close after the TTT. That said it is a bloody farce when crashes cause so much chaos in the race.

You are being kind. A factor of 3 and his smuggness factor will be off the chart!

Well, Wiggins was probably going to lose the jersey today anyway, but I don't think that's the way he'll have wanted to do it.

So Evans and Vino both made the split, who else was up there? Did Basso make it?

It will just be the village idiot singing a little louder than normal. ;)
TBH I can't imagine he's really happy with this.

Farrar was just plain faster than Greipel today, and it wasn't close.

Greipel needed the win to get the jersey, so who gets it now? Farrar?

[edit] Oh snap, it WAS Goss. OK, should have noticed that.

Greipel is pretty sick and he still managed a good 4th place. Just wait until he's better and he'll be winning again, relegating Farrar to the placing he is more experienced at getting, second. Greipel's winning will make Cavendish look like a has-been.

Nice leadout from Garmin and Farrar has the speed to finish it.
Hopefully the Columbia leadout will work tomorrow, but Greipel just couldn't get to the wheel of Goss. Nevertheless he has some good speed, he came from pos 9th after the corner.

I don't like stages with so much corners, thats just too dangerous. I don't want to see a battlefield like this again. Hopefully no rider is seriously injured.

The way Liquigas was pulling pretty much confirmed both Basso and Nibali in the first group.

Arghhhhhh, they finally showed the announcers' names for Universal Sports, but I had turned my head and didn't see them. They are Steve and Gogo with Gogo the former cyclist. However, I still have no idea who either of them are.

I suspect so, thus it will decrease my activity :p

But no even ACF will surely see this as a disadvantage.

Will be interesting to see how many people made the finish. It obviously has big implications for the TTT if there are teams who will have a depleted compliment at the start. Only one we know of for sure is BMC's Kohler.

For the record, the top 8 looked like this:

1 Tyler Farrar (USA) Garmin-Transitions
2 Matthew Harley Goss (Aus) Team HTC-Columbia
3 Fabio Sabatini (Ita) Liquigas-Doimo
4 Andre Greipel (Ger) Team HTC-Columbia
5 Alessandro Petacchi (Ita) Lampre-Farnese Vini
6 Chris Sutton (Aus) Sky Professional Cycling Team
7 Robbie McEwen (Aus) Team Katusha
8 Graeme Brown (Aus) Rabobank

Also according to cycling news Evans has 1 second over Farrar and 3 over Vino.

See, isso, THIS is trolling. I was talking about Greipel because he is in the race, and I was saying he was slow today because he was slow today. If I had said 'ZOMG Cav would totally have smoked all these guys if he was here :rolleyes::rolleyes:' then I would have been trolling, because Cav has nothing to do with this race.

I do expect to see better from Greipel as he recovers from his illness, he'll probably bag at least a couple of stages before this race is out.

Unbelievable. This stage is an absolute scandal in my opinion !!
Repeat again, the last fall was on a straight piece of road with no road furniture at all.

So stop your bs, blame the riders for not being able to keep their bikes straight

Nope, you were talking about 'Greipel' and not Greipel. Just like you promised you would in the Cavendish topics a while ago.

He came from 9th to 4th. He was fast, despite a stomach illness.

But yeah, sastre has lost a min to cuddles now.
I suspect he will get it back on the TTT. Thus it could be a real show down - especially considering the two remaining time trials... being the man in form will be more important then being a ITT specialist. And that last week of climbing :D :D
