I am going to add a patriotic flavour to this thread

Moment And Stage win: Evans at montalcino
Dissapointment: Evans failing to get on the podium even though he fought hard. I really thought he had a red hot chance.
Surprise: Richie POrte...this guy could win a GT in the future.

Oh boy, I was close. Three out of four. Well actually two and a half as I said you'd make the maglia rosa for Evans the moment.

Liquigas in the money ....

Liquigas 850.000 Euro +after Giro.

Liquigas-Doimo was clearly the number one team at the Giro this year and the riders and support staff have been well rewarded for their efforts. According to Gazzetta dello Sport the team won an amazing total of 450,000 Euros of prizemoney during the race and Liquigas has added a winning bonus of 400,000 to that making a grand total of 850,000 for the team! By tradition the team leaders Nibali and Basso have reportedly given their share to the 7 other teammates who will take home 85% of the booty with the support staff to split the final 15%.

Giro winner Ivan Basso has even added to this winfall for each of his teammates by offering them a custom made designer watch with their race number engraved on the back. A lot of suffering was done for 3 weeks by the riders and staff alike - but what a winfall! By my calculations each domestique in the squad should be taking home just over 103,000 Euros for their three weeks of work - more than most riders in the pro peloton earn for a whole season.

I don't usually post here. But on Sunday I had to opportunity to go to the Giro tt in Verona. It was my first time going to a pro cycling event and it was immense! The fan access is absolutely crazy, after just arriving in Verona Damiano Cunego cycled about 1 metre from me on his reccon. But I really wanted to say how impressed I was with Filippo Pozzato, he's my favourite rider but obviously i've read all the bad press and what other riders say, but he was the most approachable pro I saw - posing for pictures with anyone, signing autographs, etc.

Just thought i'd let you know here at the forum, I never realised how fun it could be to go to some pro cycling.

Moment of the giro... Arroyo's superb descent, I thought he'd win the Giro
Best stage win of the giro... Evans' win on the Strade Bianchi. Most epic stage in a GT I've ever seen

Dissapointment of the giro... Gibo Simoni
surprise of the giro... Richie Porte and Arroyo

Moment: Evans fist fighting, loosing his temper, yet again. I had almost become a fan of him.

Win: Basso on Zoncolan

Disappointment: Sastre

Surprise: The big break getting away

This Giro was the best GT I've seen in a long time.

Staggering that over 80% gave this GT 9 or 10 out of 10 and that over 93% gave it 8 out of 10.
The other 6 and a bit% must be Australian!:D

ACF confirms his name. Australian Cycling Fan: Nothing less, certainly nothing more.

Good work idiot. ACF94 gave it and 8 out of 10. It would of been 11 out of 10if cadel had won.

You know, traditionally people refer to themselves in the first person, for example "I gave it an 8".

Moment: Two: the 12 minutes breakaway, who brought to live some "living deads" and made this Giro quite epic (otherwise Liquigas would won it easier that it did) - Basso winning on the Zoncolan (turning point of the race)

Win: Zoncolan. I´m a Basso fan and I´ve loved seen him win like that! What a monster attack!! Liquigas: probably the best team around.

Disappointments: Sastre and Wiggins.

Surprises: Richie Porte, Molema, John Gadret

Confirmation: Niballi
