Official start at 10.08.

Plenty of breakaway attempts, but none succesful yet. Fast pace.

50,4 km/h (31.3 mph) in the first hour. 23 leaders, but with only 15 seconds on the peloton at the moment.

The peloton reached the first small climb of today together at a fast pace. Now eight attackers with Garzelli among them.

Riders are getting shelled off the peloton on the climb. Will we see the first struggle for the time cut today?

The Garzelli breakaway was quickly absorbed, but a 4 rider fall caused the peloton to fragment.

The first part of the peloton, some 70 riders strong, has 1'24" on the rest. All the GC contenders should be there.

Where are you getting these reports from?

Ya, the english translations really are atrocious. I wonder if they simply use a translation software or if there is actually a preson writing that bullcrap.

Ben Swift has blown.

Still it will have been good experience for him.

That's a bit of an epic to undertake on your own. Wish I could watch it.

Some very sad news, shown on Rai. Race photographer Roberto Bettini's motor cyclist was killed today, 6kms into the stage.
Bad translation sorry:-
The Turn d' Italy is in mourning. Fabio Saccani, one of the moticislisti that follow the every day rose race, is dead in a road accident this morning. On board of its Bmw Saccani was reaching the Piedmont, after to have spent the day of rest with the family, to follow the tenth fraction, from Wedge to Pinerolo.

I'm finding this stage kind of boring so far.

Good, because I just woke up and wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything! Garz looks good.
