Teams & Riders Giulio Pellizzari: Super Sub

Pellizzari and Roglic have a good relationship with eachother and him and Hindley also seem to be on good terms with eachother (both of them speaking Italian might also help a bit), so there shouldn't be any problems between him and the rest of the potential Giro-Vuelta guys.

EU media will IMHO explode in 2026 season in regards to RBH and the Tour. That is all countries involved will demand for their representative to ride Giro, after RBH say no to all of them and sends them all to the Tour, then it will get really crazy.
Pelizzari has roglic's blessings abi!! You should support him, he idols Roglic just like you. When Roglic retires you will become a big peilizzari fan as he carries the legacy of roglic

he could have won a stage at this year's Giro too, if the team was smart enough to drop him off GC when Roglic withdrew. If Dunbar could win a late stage from the GC in the 2024 Vuelta, then there was always a chance that Pellizari could win a stage.
Why drop him of GC for a stage if he now got 6th in GC? I think the experience of going for a GC two times at such an early stage is worth more than the chance of a stage win.

If he keeps developing be might be better than others. Even next year he’ll probably be co-leader at a GT so no reason to leave.
I don't think 'co-leaders' really work. If (say) Lipowitz is in better form the first two weeks then Pellizzari ends up riding for him, even if Pellizzari is now in better form and can feasibly recoup that time on Lipowitz.

I think that's basically always case except for really specific situations, where either they have both secured a podium and work together to try win, or neither of them care about their placing and work together to try win.

I dont understand this. People say the same about Lipowitz.
RBH does have a lot of GC Rider but who of them are with the team longterm and potentially better then Pellizari?
Exactly it is Remco and Lipowitz who are on the same level or more or less with the same potential. All others are old, running out of contracts or are not even better then Giulio. People act like there would be standing 20 riders in the way.

In addition, the boy is 21. You do not destroy a carreer if you do not let him lead a GT with the age of 22. But you may destroy him with too much pressure and hype. Just ask Remco. He delivered, but he suffered along the way.

And besides all of that he already is allowed to ride a GT more or less for its own.
So all in all I dont get all of this wrong team stuff at all.

@MLKarlos

I feel that RBH knows what they are doing, youngsters becoming superstars under guidance of their mentors. That is on how it should be done in general in sports. Mentors still occasionally winning a Tour or two, nothing wrong with that.

So some of you are just trying to turn great solutions into (non existing) problems. For example RBH is now considered top 3 team in terms of GT racing, even before Remco signed. They obviously are doing something right. In the pre Tour 2025 discussion some claimed on how everything is wrong and provided strange solutions on how to fix it, approach to the Tour 2025. Luckily that is now all behind us. They are now too good, to result to such amateurism.

Must be very disappointing for Pellizzari to ride such an incredible Vuelta only too have an off-day on the final day of the race.

Still with two 6th places in GTs at only 21 years of age he has pulled off an amazing performance this year.

I suspect he might be sick since he rode such a bad ITT as well. Or perhaps its just the two GTs in a season at such a young age that's finally taking it's toll.
