Yes, he seems to have the upper hand in the hard mountain stages.
I have to admit, I underrated him a couple of months ago, but he proves me wrong so far.
You are talking about Pellizarri, right? The same dude who collapsed on Bola del Mundo and Finestre last year?
Right?

Yes, he collapsed , but he also had impressive performances. Whereas Del Toro was noticeably worse in the hardest mountain stages.

He’s gonna be up there for the Giro win already this year I think. Was 6th in both GT’s, looks like he took another step this year. He’s my first pick behind Vingo and you never know how the race unfolds.

I'm torn between thinking this could be his Vingegaard in 2021/2022 year or if it's a bit of him having started his season a month before Roglic, so looking sharper. Del Toro has been riding a while, though, and Pellizzari looks good against him.

Early days, but it would be pretty funny if, after putting lots of energy into and splurging boatloads of cash on signing Roglic and Evenepoel, Pellizzari winds up being the most successful GT rider in Bora's history.

(obviously not counting results for other teams, it's hard to see him matching Roglic' palmares)

I would not be that surprised.

I would not be surprised if he ultimately ends up a better GT rider than Del Toro.
Pellizzari is more fluid when he is climbing, he looks very quiet on the bike, a bit more natural than Del Toro. When Isaac is struggling he has a modified Alberto Contador worm thing going on.. He rides like Mexican Axel Rose from Guns and Roses.

I only just got to watch the summary.

This isn't the kind of sprint you can say much about riders' intrinsic speed
Yeah, that was a really strange sprint. Giulio is definitely not known for being able to sprint. And yet he entered the final straight as the last rider of the group. Normally you don’t play any role in the fight for the podium from that position. And then he just comes flying past everyone, and you can’t even really tell how he did it.

Perfect draft/timing can do that in when legs are kinda dead and the more powerful guys aren't getting the seperation.
