Today's race was on tarmac not cobbles. That's the difference. He won this stage last year in a similar manner.
Yes I know, but he's also in much better form based on the tests he has done lately. He wouldn't have performed on the cobbles anyway as he sucks on cobbles, but it's still a bit perplexing that his numbers are much higher now than they were for the classics which were his number 1 goal for the season.

Sondre Holst Enger in fourth place in the stage, takes back the white jersey and are in fourth place overall. I guess it's just a question of time before this 19 year old will be pro.

Also nice to see Skujins get some decent results in a decent race. He was looking promising few years ago, but didn't do too much for a while.

Still, Skujins is almost 22, Enger only 19

Chapeau Paulinho, you still got it. :)

Such a shame that you choose to escort Contador to it's conquers, at the expence of a better career.

Looking forward to today's stage, should provide some action in the finale. Particularly interested to see if Sondre Holst Enger can deliver another impressive performance and perhaps earn a podium position overall. Here's a part of the final climb:

That climb should be interesting. The weather looks like it will be quite nice today too!

Anyway yesterdays stage was very interesting. It looked like Blanco were set for one-two attacking, Only Nordhaug was dropped on the first climb. As Dekker_tifosi mentioned they are probably in a heavy training period preparing for July, so considering this I was very impressed with Mollema and Ten Dam. Mollema came in third and Ten Dam worked hard in the group.

The Norwegian TV2 commentators said it looked like Nordhaug had been training too heavily, so he might need to be a bit more careful. He is probably so set on the Tour that his enthusiasm got the better of him.

Edvald performed as I hoped, I think he has put much more emphasis on his climbing, and that is starting to show.

I was really impressed with Sondre Holst Enger He is born 17.12.1993, so he is 19,5 years old.:D

He gives me the impression of having a sprinters attitude, very offensive in his attitude. Unlike Edvald who is more defensive and shy. I think the sprinters need to have a bit of an attitude to become really good. In Norwegian we tend to use the term vinner skalle or winners head(see Northug as an example).

But what surprised me was his climbing ability, that was really impressive, and in the end he even sprinted for placings, and just nabbed 4th!

Unless the interviewer was huge, Sondre doesn't look to be that tall either. Perhaps he is built like a climber, but can still sprint like a sprinter?

Also Kristoff seems to continue his progression. He was able to rejoin the group on the decent of the first climb, before being finally dropped on the second climb.

Finally I was really impressed with Ben Swift and Josh Edmundson. The kept the tempo up on the first and most of the second ascent. That was very impressive!

Ps: Here are the results of the stage:

boassen hagen breaks that duck, one of his famous attacks but he can not seem to win a sprint right now

I don't think he has prioritized his sprinting. Anyway it also depends on the competition. Kristoff and Bos beating him in the sprint on the courses we have seen should not be a surprise. Kristoff has really improved and Bos seems extremely fast when it's flat enough for him. The 17. may sprint in Drammen, he seemed to totally botch. But the others were good. The sky lead out train was excellent on all days as far as I can tell. If it were not for the bonus seconds, perhaps someone else would be selected for the flat sprint in Drammen?

EBH hasn't done any sprint training whatsoever this year actually.

He's stronger than ever in the climbs, unfortunately that won't lead to any results for him as he'll be a pure domestique in the next couple of races he'll do. He'll certainly do a great job for Froome though...

Good! I think thats, a wise decision, I haven't watched cycling intently for more than a year, but my impression is that he hasn't got the sprinters mentality, and since he is so good at everything else it's better to improve those areas.

As for his role in the Tour, I hope Sky can use him more creatively than they did last year. Sending him in the break and let some other team pull the pelleton would allow them to save energy and perhaps give EBH a stage win.

With Kosta breaking a leg and Cavendish on the team, last year made that difficult. I imagine Cavendish crying himself to sleep each night would ruin the cohesion of the team, not to mention Bernies sleep.:D

Now, they can rely on OPQ to do the pulling on the flat stages.

Exactly the same. I speak a bit of that tibeto-burman language.

Interesting, though I don't think the I is that uncommon. For example I think German has the same way as in "Ich bin ein Berliner." (ps. don't say that to a Dane, if he is hungry he might eat you;))

What is this tibeto-burman language you speak of?

wow a caja rural rider bumped into a fdj rider and the fdj rider just rammed the caja rural rider off his bike

EDIT; well more an annoyed push, but he just gave a serious push from the side, obviously causing the caja rural rider to crash.....
EDIT; lol I don't know what team the pusher was, I thought FDJ, but FDJ isn't in this race. There was some white and blue on his jersey though :p
