The course is not so tough, and Pogacar will be marked. With a final km at 4% guys like De Lie and Girmay have a decent chance. Pogacar has a better chance on Sunday.
You're ignoring the UAE leadout on the steeper gradients before the final drag. With Pogi in the wheel that's enough to get the guys with a faster sprint to fall back.

So when is UAE coming

Maybe the breakaway is just too strong today.

How do we rate Luke Lamperti here? Just saw him on the start list. Can he survive if it ends in a reduced sprint?

And we all know Frank VDB is gonna lead Bardet to victory.

Being up front 4.25 ahead is actually a decent place to be right now, could end up with a solid result if a dangerous group makes it across later and they can hold on for a bit.

UAE finally awake. This will be very hard from now on. Doubt De LIe survives, definitely not if he has his Hamburg form
