Darren Rafferty? Yes

I thought protestants in Northern Ireland were all descendants of (British) settlers? Yes, but Rafferty would be of the green proportion of the population of the north.

I believe it is a convention in this game that we use "from a country" to mean "represents" rather than "born in" or "(previously) resident in". Really couldn't work out why it was taking so long to identify the national champion of an anglophone European country.

From country with red on flag? No*

If you'd just said "No" without the asterisk, I wouldn't have gotten confused. Especially since there's no information about where exactly he was born.

I'd say it varies a little. For example; I'd definitely still consider Benedetti to be from Italy, even though he went and became Polish.

but he did represent N Ireland (red and white flag: it's complicated) in the Commonwealth Games.

Now we have a conondrum.
It seems @Armchair Cyclist knew who it was, but got confused by the Danish name-thing. And also spelling; I would have accepted 'Rasmus Sojberg'.
@Samu Cuenca, otoh, knows what the guy is generally called, and can write the 'ø'.

Well, you're both adults, you decide whose turn it is!

More names than the ones generally used?

My guess was just poking fun at AC trying his best to get the name right, but still failing (it might have been on purpose). I don't have a rider ready.

Hansen?
