She comes from a basketball loving family and started playing it herself at age 4. When she was 8, she began to dream about becoming Olympic champion in the sport. At was 14, she and her then team got to do power tests with the local BMX team, just for a bit of fun. However she had a bit of a Vingegaard moment, where the coaches couldn't believe the numbers they were seeing, and that eventually led to ending up in track cycling. While she has been both European and World champion, the Olympic gold medal is still a dream only.
