Although I wouldn't have really called him a GC rider I guess that Giro podium would count against him.

Lampre not being the last team they rode for and no Monument top 10s is stumping me, as those I thought it could be are Righi and Spezialetti (finished career with Lampre), Codol and Carrara (both top 10ed Lombardia).

You seemed to be confused by the time of retirement. It doesn't state at the end of the 2012 season. ;)

Was the last team he rode for a WT team? Yes.

Furlan has been mentioned already. Besides, he was a sprinter.
