Not how I thought you'd isolate him (the doping route was more likely I thought) but considering how few Americans raced the Vuelta even at the height of USPS, the fact he hadn't started the Tour meant you were down to two (unless you count the TTT win for Postal in 2004 as a GT win for Cruz).

It was luck more than anything. I thought Festina was Spanish registered when he rode for them
