Wilhelm Henie? Indeed.
He became the first Norwegian ever to win a World championship title when he was victorious at the amateur WC in the 100 km moto paced race in 1894. That was the year before the first edition of the World championship fir professionals, which he never rode in. He did however win another two medals at the amateur event, as well as four medals at the 1896 EC in speed skating.
Later he used the money he had earned from that as well as from gathering animal fur to fund his daughter Sonja's Olympic record setting career in figure skating.
