And no I don't have anorexia.

Oh wow!
I'm 201cm and 93kg at this moment, but 4-5 years ago my weight was 80kg and when I was 18 and I reached 201cm I weighed 75kg which ofcourse was underweight.
I'm not sure how old you are, but once I past the age of 25 I started gaining weight. Slowly, but now at 29 my weight is 93kg and rising.
Also a reason I'm going to buy a bike this winter and see if I can get it down to 85kg allthough I'm not sure if the misses will agree, but I love climbing! :)

Too bad the closest hill is about 200km away..

Although i live by the sea, the closest climb is 5 minutes away. Plus the weather is perfect all year long so i can almost train everyday outdoor. These are the benefits of living in a Mediterranean country. Basically no forced offseason.

Yeah same. I don't know what I would do if I lived in Canada and couldn't ride on the road for several months.

91kg @ 194cm

Had it down to 89 before, so I'm hoping some serious training can get it down to at least 87. 85 preferably. I ****ing hate any sort of incline.

Kwibus, you are about with me (195 and 90.. and Maggie Backstedt) but we should be more like 80 than 87 to do this thing right. I do go down hills pretty well though

That is about the same height as Van Summeren and he his about 5 or 6 kg heavier, and he can still go up hills (very well)

1m80, 71kgs.
My data was once quite close to a sprinter like Robbie Hunter, even if I don't feel like a sprinter at all!

180 cm and around 80-ish kgs, which is too much for a cyclist i think.

I´ve read Nibali is 180 too so i would love to see his bike set up. Mainly because i dont know if i should go for a size 56 frame or size 58.

well i am 5'9" and 150lbs (1.75m and 67kg.)
according to wiki cavendish size
but everytime i look in the mirrior i see alberto contador
and the few times i have raced i feel like valverde.
my proportions are similar to contador's eventought i am heavier
but cannot manage to climb long and steady
when i haved raced i always enjoy shorter punishing climbs at the end of a shorter race and i like sprinting a bit and sometimes, sometimes i can do a decent tt.

i'm 180 too and i ride a 56. It's the perfect size. A 58 would be too big, i'm quite sure. You can still ride a 56 up to roughly a height of 185cm.

Hey Roberto, I will be first in to let you know that Alberto found a nice way to get rid of those extra pounds (allegedly;))

I'm 188cm/6ft 2, and I ride a 57cm frame (because I ride an Orbea which for some reason do everything in 3cm increments, and the next size up would be a 60cm frame which is too big for me) which is the smallest for me, or a 58cm frame is the maximum for me. Would you fit on a 54cm frame? What bike do you ride, and what size is it?

I'm 186cm and currently 73kg. After another month of training, I think I'll be down to 72kg (I still have some fatty deposits to try and lose to get to proper racing weight).

I am 182cm and 70kg. Two or three years ago when I was doing a lot of ridding and no other sport I was down at 63kg.

Since then I started doing other sports such as swimming, tennis, soccer and also started weight training and i have put on too much weight on the upper body.

I would say my overall fitness is probably comparable to back then, and I am probably healthier, but my climbing ability has plummeted.

My current bike is a 58cm hybrid. After i change it to a single speed and most importantly, narrowed the steer (with bar ends) from 56 to 42cm, i can suddenly do out of saddle climbs on the local hills with a good kadence on a gear that was higher than i used to ride with on the climbs before. I guess narrowing the steer opened up my lungs.

I'm 53 5'6 (167cm) 125lbs 56kg 1lb below my best riding shape from 20 years ago..
I had gotten up to 160 and lost it all in 15 months and 3000 miles. The first 1000 took me 10 months.. I expected that I might have to settle for being heavier because of age etc but surprised myself.. I could lose 5 more lbs since I have less muscle mass than 20 years ago..I'm still a shadow of my former self as far as cycling goes.. 3000 miles really isn't much.. 5000 more and I might be better.

This sizing system is annoying. Because for a 180cm guy, a 57 would be too big and a 54 too small. Maybe the solution would be a 54 with longer stem?

Yeah, it's stupid how they do it, as somebody who would want an Orbea, would be forced to buy a different bike. My foreman at work also rides, and he is approx 6ft, and was telling me he needs a 56cm frame, because he is a 54cm frame, and even with the longest stem he can get, it's still too small (he doesn't ride an Orbea BTW). But in saying that though, my Orbea Onix ****s all over the Trek that I used to own.

BTW, and slightly OT, but shouldn't this be in the Form and Fitness subforum?
