But then again, Hinault understands a thing or two about more capable cyclists sacrificing themselves for the greater good.

I gather you're referring to the time Hinault attacked on the Galibier, destroyed Urs Zimmerman in the process, and then dutifully escorted Greg Lemond up Alpe d'Huez, as depicted in your icon.

I think THe BAdger is not that stupid (in fact he was probably the smartest ever), and I'm sure he guages the different disciplines in order of importance... and I think he'd know! I'm sorry to point this out so directly, but if you don't know what a rolleur is and the importance of this discipline/talent in a Grand TOur, then where the heck is your critique based? I'd personally (and irrelevantly) rate in the disciplines inthe following order and values... Climbing 10, TT-ing 8, Tactics7, Rolleur 6, Team quality 8 (9 if theres a team TT)
Contador will win despite being isolated on 3 major climbs. Just too good in the steep stuff. Unless WADA get to the bottom of his Vm acheived/kgs-mass readings suggesting too-high red-cell readings.
Schlenk the Younger second
? 3rd
?? 4th
Armstrong 5th.... sadly. I think the TOur De Suisse final TT uphill time splits were telling. I really do want him to win, but he probably won't podium.
Everyone's writing off Basso (not without reason) but I suspect he's going to be a real player in the big passes, and don't undersetimate his team to drag him to where he needs to be. Rolleurs!!

My critique is based on the different importance of Climbing and TTing vs. team strength and tactics and the inherent flaw of just adding things like that together. That's what I wrote. You're right of cause That I can't be 100% certain that he just add things together, but if he doesn't it's weird he uses a scale going up to 40 and then only uses ratings above 28.

kloden is the most juiced rider in the peloton, ever wondered why he rarely or never finished 1st?

No reason for singling out this poster (there are many similar statements), but this type of comment without evidence is mischievious speculation that hurts the sport. Current testing may be insufficient. Half the peloton may be juiced, but until the sport and its supporters sort out the details, I'm still going to enjoy watching the competition and I'm going to give all riders the assumption of innocence. Why? TO RESPECT THOSE RIDERS WHO ARE CLEAN.
