As long as that opinion doesn't hurt Lance....

I don't do that.
I actually like Chris...it's one of those things , y'know, when you sit down and read something...and you just sorta shake your head and go ???
"What the heck did he just say???"
I do see on retro that he was probably just cackling out a stream of thoughts.
I wish him well and I was happy for him when he won the Basque...but his definitive statements that he was going to "destroy the field" next year on Tv was one of those things that made me go 'whoa'!
(on first read I also thought it sounded as if he were dissing his new teamie Andy a bit...)
I will truly be amazed if he could smash all the GC leaders to smithereens..
we'll see!
Now go pet your kitties

Would people really want a rider who say's "I'm not very good I can manage a win if everyone else crashes or gives up" ???
Any interviewed rider who say's the old lame-o line of so and so is better or has the better form should be banned! They have already lost the race.
fatandfast said:When or where would Horner have wanted to step out of his role as a team mate and voice some opinion on Lance? He has been inside the sport for a decent length of time and has probably formed opinions based on his experience not only what is available to cycling enthusiasts.
He has some good results in shorter stage races. I see his role on the new Supershack team as being his best of all so far. Got lots of marked riders that will be followed not matter what. He can be sent up the road as a spoiler with great success. I see ToC or Basque tour as good fits for his skills and his teams strengths. He is a good enough TT rider to challenge lots of close races and he is a great climber.

Besides, I'm not an American, so I doubt he'd be willing to be friendly against me![]()

I was meant to post this one earlier myself, and I've commented on this clip in the past. I remember how put off I was by this the first time around. As much as I usually like to listen to Horner talk about racing, his little diatribe here was pathetic.El Pistolero said:
El Pistolero said:Yeah, I totally forgot about TJVG. He'll be in it as well if he has a decent year. But I do think Pinotti will be part of the team. The Tour suits him more than the Giro, I think they'll send a B(or C) squad to the Giro. Perhaps next year they'll send someone like Gilbert to the Giro to make up for it.

There's no reason whatsoever to take the high road with the Cobble. He can't help himself and he's only showing his true colors. Of course when it happens in The Clinic, he blames it on all the mean people in there, consistently failing to look in the mirror to where he would find the true source of his caustic behavior. Then he'll whine, in his own cryptic fashionabout how the mods are out to get him. Of course the fact that he is still allowed to post on this forum at all contradicts that, even though he rarely offers anything of substance but rather just attacks anyone and everyone as he pleases. And yet it's endlessly tolerated.

18-Valve. (pithy) said:Frank Schleck didn't have the legs to do much, though. This was already apparent on the previous MTF. On the Bonette he wasn't one of the best, either.
Schleck was only 8 seconds ahead of Evans before the Alpe d'Huez stage, with Sastre only 41 behind Evans. Sastre already climbed WAY better than Frank and Evans on the previous MTF and was obviously a better time trialist than Frank, who was a horrible one back then.
You may very well be right that Evans was keen to follow Frank Schleck's every move on that stage at first, a huge tactical error in itself, but Sastre was always going to be the much bigger GC threat.

La Pandera said:Exactly. If I recall correctly he was rather critical of Armstrong in the past but upon joining him and Johann he seemed to have gone all starstruck and gaga, similar to the goo-goo eyes Levi exhibited in those 2 years whenever the subject of Armstrong was brought up by the media.

Gad.
I can't believe a couple of his comments....
The one about him on front on tv.....

Did I misread this?
