Some people in the thread saying it was the best race they ever saw. Don't know about that, I couldnt enjoy it that much because I was so stressed but looking back at the last hour it was pretty insane. Perhaps suffers a bit from the fact that it was quite boring until 60km but 60k is still quite a lot.
Morons taking out riders especially stybar dampened it a bit and maybe prevented it from being a bit better but a 1 on 1.track sprint, after the eventual winner was declared dead in g4 with 30 to go, makes that 14k slog through ta everyone was so excited about look not that great.

Give it an 8. The race started a little mellow, but the last 50km were great. This is also the first Roubaix since 2004 where you didn't know who'd win 10km before the finish, this was the most tense sprint on the track in ages.

It was better than I expected since there were no real big guns in stead of Cance. No Tommeke or Ballan. Pippo out form, flecha getting old. Hushovd not even 10% of the guy he used to be

gave it an 8 because of the late start of the proper racing and because the stybar incident took some of the interest away from the last 14k imo.

other then that when the race did get going it was very good and even tho the rider i was cheering for didn't win, the racing is what truly matters

I'll give it a 8, although I voted a 7 in the poll. Arenberg was quite lame this year, but after that the race was quite good. The riders attacked without waiting for Cancellara to ride off, there were punctures and crashes, and a exciting finish although I would have preferred if Cancellara hadn't won.

5 cobbles out of 5.

p.s. Fans are not to blame for Stybar's stumble. After watching multiple replays, it seems clear to me that nobody did anything out of the ordinary. He needs to keep his head up when riding so close to the crowd.

8 or 9, oh wth 9.
Great race. Simply a great edition.

Gave it a six would've been more baring the 2 quickstep riders falling losing time. But honestly couldn't see past Fabian once it went to 2. Still an exciting year.

I gave it a 9. I would have gone with a 10 if Sep wasn't so under geared in the velodrome. WTF spent I know but...

I like incidents in P-R, they are needed for the drama. Without them I would have score the race lower probably.

True but imagine if the four riders had gone to the end a two up would've really put the pressure on Fabian and that might have made a better score out of 10 for me. But I get your point on crashes always spices things up just like a mechanical at a crucial moment.

7. Very boring until last 60 km. Then very, very strange. But exciting.

Watching Stybar was ridiculous!! First i believed Boonen had been given Stybar's number, so he could go under the radar.

Gave it a 7. The finale was very good, but it took a looong time to get going. And Štybar's near-crash spoilt it a fair bit. Sure, this kind of thing happens and is part of Paris-Roubaix, but it's a bummer when there's so few contenders, especially since Vanmarcke had been in the break.

10/10. Really enjoyed it, everyone put so much effort in it. My rating doesn't depend on the result, every rider fought for it. Especially in this era this seems to be rare with all those controlled races.

Understand your view, but I liked this situation better. Vanmarcke, the newcomer, clearly riding like a champion going against one of the great cobble riders. Of course it was bad luck for Stybar, but to me it gave us the perfect finish. Very unpredictable, high drama.

Next time Vanmarcke will be even better I think.
