How sketchy was Barloworld?

BroDeal said:
I liked watching Soler in his breakout Tour but does anyone really think he was clean? He never was able to perform like that once he went to a Pro Tour team. Then there was Duenas...

Soler suffered a lot from injuries and crashes, the last of which effectively ended his career when he seemed to be coming back to his best. Don't know the exact details of all his mishaps but there seemed to be quite a few.

Just look at the development at staff level. When guys like Elli, Volpi, Tebaldi, Corti come in the picture one should know enough.

But hey, Michel Gros was there from the get go, so, what do you expect?

Cesspool.

Funny how a bunch of the riders ended up at Sky.

Can't wait to hear Ryo Hazuki's defense for Soler.

Needs to defend Corti

They are pretty sketchy in my view, aside from Duenas, Astarloa, Pfannberger. You have Soler, Augustyn, Hunter, Gasparotto, Efimkin whose time at Barloworld tends to stand out. Reminds me a bit of CTT.

I have doubts also. But Soler reason's for not performaing well after Barloworld are the wrong ones. Really. In fact, he was already underperforming because of his crashes at the end of Barloworld's time. He started performing very well at Movistar again until he crashed again. You should know that.

Made me check his wiki, it says Efimkin is now at team novo nordisk. Do anybody know if they also have "normal" guys in their team, or if Efimkin match the "criteria"

If Barloword was on other than bread and water? Well.... Maybe they had a Snickers once in a while, that would be my best guess..

Foome dog will regret this. cos lets just say, the Saffas who came up thu Robertsons dIII feeder, Konica Minolta, were not bread and water graduates. they graduated as fully fledged cyclists. talented ones no doubt

last line is just gilding the lilly too much chris. you should regret that, regardless if you get nabbed or not.
"I'm sure he's in enough trouble as it is and that he'll regret it for the rest of his life. There's already the possibility of a two-year suspension, a jail sentence and huge fine to pay and I hope he accepts that. I'm sure that he'll regret it for the rest of his life. If that's the only way it's going to stop guys doping then we should throw them in jail."

Is he? He rode for TT1 but I don't think that he has stayed with them this year.

I have trouble enough working out which one is which!

AFAIK Novo Nordisk have quite a few younger guys such as Fabio Calabria in the team, so maybe they are looking to start from scratch?

Also, what happened to Augustyn? Looked like he had some real potential then disappeared...

He's been injured for years, a hip problem I think. He gave up and moved back to South Africa though I believe he may be riding again. If his fitness holds for a few years maybe he will have another crack at Europe, but imo you'd have to be pretty keen and short of options outside cycling.

Yep hip problem.
Signed with a local team after Sky, then stopped riding entirely.

I think he and his brother run a bike shop now.

Always a shame when a career is cut short by an injury.

Seriously guys, it's extremely easy to pick out the rotten teams, just take a look at the most important spot.

That would be guilty by assumption.

So, Colobia Coldesportes is also questionable?

No, because at that team he is assisted by Marco Pallini, who surely will keep him on the straight and narrow

And yeah, this ****es me of.

Aient cycling a beautifull little incestpool?

Good to see Vaughters is adressing those questions on the MPCC meetings.
