I haven't checked up on old Mou for a while but this one sounded too good not to dig out. The poor chap seems to be having some sort of breakdown over this whole Ayuso business?

Fwiw UAE's 5th guy finished a mere 27 minutes behind, the gap might've been a bit too difficult to bring things back at that point.

Clearly young Isaac got confused and thought it was Yates who was supposed to get a 1:30 advantage. Then since Ayuso didn't participate the gap just kept growing.

Yeah, I don‘t know how you can even think this is a thing that could work, Mou can‘t have watched a lot of cycling. But he did say Ayuso has to participate.

But to be fair, UAE did eventually cut the gap from about 6 minutes to 5 like it was a joke, so mou did get something right.

Fact he thinks Simon Yates has the same role as Almeida tells me he barely knows anything about cycling. Where Almeida is probably the last rider for Pogacar, S. Yates is the third last rider, behind Jorgenson and Kuss.

I like Jorgenson but I have trouble imagining him doing what Simon Yates did on Finestre. Sepp Kuss isn’t capable of that performance either plus he’s been invisible since that 2023 Vuelta.
