What internet browser do you use? Internet Explorer?, Mozilla Firefox?, something different? I remember Netscape years ago, is that still going?

I use Mozilla Firefox, used to be an IE man but then i tried Firefox and just never went back. Just find it so much easier to use. Also i was told (don't have a clue if it is true) that IE is very buggy and much more easy to be hacked.

Just wondering what you use for your daily browsing habits.

I am a Firefox user. It is a far superior program.

Firefox for me. Google chrome is pretty good. IE is a popup wasteland but that sort of thing is really starting to affect firefox too.

FireFox:cool: I have been using it for years. Now that I have left Windows for Ubuntu I have also tried Opera(also available in Windows, Mac, Free BSD and other versions of Linux) and it is also a very good browser.

Firefox/Mac

Have been using Firefox for 5 years now. Every once in a while I'll use Safari, which is far more stable than it was at the beginning of the year before all those updates, but Firefox is still the better default. Though, Mozilla really needs to up the ante on their Thunderbird mail client, which really sucks.

and the only browser apart from webkit (the engine behind safari and chrome) to get an Acid3 100/100 Test score ;) Firefox doesnt even come close (93/100 ive just tested it), IE8 now passes acid2, but got a laughable 12/100 at acid3)

run the various browser through it and you will see how bad IE really is.. :D

and im not even norweigan.... ;)

I use firefox with Flash blocker and ad blocker installed as it makes cyclingnews readable. Without these add ins pages just look like a bunch of flashing lights to me.

sorry.. im a little fanatical about opera, i couldnt live without it...

for me the key points

apart from speed

integrated mail, which is great, its very involved a lot of filters and gets some getting used to, but once set up and youve discovered the power it is amazing...

mouse gestures.. hold down right click, and click left to go back... hold down left click and click right to go forward, and many more.. once you are used the them you cant live without them... full list here http://www.opera.com/browser/tutorials/gestures/

and little things like integrated notes, great for taking bits of text from the web to use later etc etc...

I also love the fact that you can modify the menus etc.. look in the opera installation folder, loads of ini files that are plain text.. all the menus in there can be edited.. more here.. http://operawiki.info/EditingINIFiles

and it comes into its own on bad connections.. when im on the mobile net, opera turbo kicks in, basically all pages are sent through opera servers who crunch them down, lower the quality of graphics etc, and give you much quicker browsing on poor connections..

it does have its downside.. it is 100% standards complaint so there are still some sites that do not work properly.. thankfully this is getting better and there are now very few... The problems comes from IE, back in 5, 6 and to an extent 7 IE did not follow web standards and because it was the most used browser, web developers designed sites to work in IE, and did not follow pure html code.. thankfully that has changed... most sites are now compliant..

as far as firefox goes.. its a great browser, and i do like it, but sadly speed issues and the fact that the hackers are now starting to target it is going against it.. its a shame because they did a great job (and more importantly have help destroy internet explorer 6, and force MS into producing something half decent..).. but they are starting to become victims of their own success..

oh and speed dial is pretty cool (although i beleive firefox does have a similar extension now)

as for chrome.. i do have chrome installed, i just find it very very strange... however, i do like the feature to save pages as application shortcuts, so i have doozer (my music page) and mapmyride as desktop shortcuts using chrome..

Yea, speed dial is freaking cool, and the google translation widget is wicked cool.

the translate one is great.. so many times i go to google translate..

some good other ones

just discovered the stay secure one, reall time updating of browser security holes.. currently opera and safari zero, firefox one, IE two.. :D
the twitter widget is kinda cool too if you use twitter..
also the youtube video downloader one i use a fair bit..
the wikepedia widget
calculator
the ruler, i use a lot for measuring things onscreen (weird i know)

as a note the second version of opera is opera unite
this allows you to use opera as a webserver, music streamer, photo and file sharing etc etc....

its still beta, and the features at the moment are more demo features than anything else.. but its what they plan a browser to be..
browser, email, messenger, media streamer, web server, file and photo sharing, plus all the widgets.. basically everything..
when completed it is going to pretty revolutionary...

as an example if you go to http://laptop.dimspace.operaunite.com/ you can, look at my shared files (which there arent any of.. lol) listen to a bit of music (what i have on the laptop most is on a shared drive), look at a few photos, write on my fridge etc... when my computer is on of course...
for instance my normal domain dimspace.net is also at http://laptop.dimspace.operaunite.com/webserver and can host direct from my computer.. all very very clever.. :D

edit: my server is not on at the mo.. i only put it on to display this
