Its hard to see past del Toro ..he seems able to follow everything and is not even breathing heavily
But the long climbs ? Yes I think he is good enough there to win.
The question is Ayuso. If he heads up the road then the pink wont follow , cant follow , doesnt follow ?
The longer del Toro remains in pink the worse the scenario for Ayuso . He has to do something if he wants to win the Giro. He is a minute and a half behind. If he attack early on a climb will yates, gee and carapaz follow ..if they dont ? or cant ?

while the legs are important this week the head will be just as important. del Toro has to do more strategy and less duracell bunny stuff

There’s no TT to claw back time and I don’t see him being able to follow Carapaz’s accelerations or drop him.

One day later and almost everyone has lost trust in the guy with over 50% of the votes, the guy with the 3rd most votes has lost 15 minutes and the guy with the 5th most votes has abandoned. That's 2/3 of the forum who will probably want their votes back. I guess some people would still vote Del Toro but I really can't see him winning after losing this much time to every serious gc contender on the first serious mountain test.

If Del Toro is behind by less than a minute on Finestre I think he will win, the terrain after suits him. 19 would usually be his downfall but he has a great climbing team and the other two don't, so can't see him losing much if anything unless it throws it down and becomes mad attritional again.
