It's back to the Lombardia i grew up with. :)

Just with Ganda instead of Selvino. The finale through Citta Alta should be the same as always, i think.

Edit: Without Roncola there is quite a long flat bit between Berbenno and Bergamo.

Looks a lot better than the last few years. But with today's peloton and 20k between the last 2 climbs it will probably be another group sprint up the last hill.

Hopefully i am wrong
this.

Still Purito could win this with ease. Just follow al the moves and attack at the final climb. Even less km's decent till the finish;)

Really nice route. It's good there is a new parcours, let's see if this brings racing from further out.

Meh, slightly better than the last few years but bound to end in similar fashion. Most of the strong riders will wait for the murito anyway. Hopefully Nibali will destroy them from far out and teach em a lesson.

Can we still expect something like that from Nibs this year? He won't race at all until the Worlds.

2015 will be better with the finish in Como. I would prefer Ghisallo and Muro di Sormano being the last climbs, then directly to Como. The road along the lake isn't flat either. I do look forward to Citta Alta, though.

Although the course is better than last year, it is still odds on that the race will be won by an attack from a leading group of 20+ in the last 4km.

There is the potential for more to happen, but when a rider like Voeckler attacks 30km out (aware he is injured) riders need to follow him.

Well yes, what should we expect otherwise? I mean someone winning through a solitary attack 100+ km out and holding his own seems farfetched and never happened a lot.

I hope that we do not end up with a FW type race like the last few years in Lombardia

I don't think it's likely, it's just a hope. Cause until riders win it with an attack on the last murito they'll keep riding it this way.
We really need somebody to stop the trend and show something else is possible. Racing in hilly classics has been abysmal for a few years now.

The big difference is the absence of the flat stretch before the Murito. At the very least this will allow for more tactical teamplay and in a not that far-fetched scenario some of the favourites (or near-favourites) might attack before the last climb.
