Why is this monument taking place on a Saturday with sh*tty coverage?

Seriously, we need someone to "buy" cycling and treat these monuments like they deserve. No wonder the vast majority of the best riders aren't here.
British Eurosport has a 3 hour plus coverage. From Valcava onwards. And Saturday is traditional; it certainly isn't the reason some of the best riders don't want to come.

Descent looks pretty hard, and the peloton is already quite small.

Sporza commentators saying the descent of the Selvino has loads of very tight hairpins. I wasn't paying attention at first having a stream on in the background, but I thought I heard Jose de Cauwer say that he counted 34 turns that 'really matter'?! They were discussing whether it would be too dangerous or not, though in the end they don't have a problem with it. Anyway, the final should be spectacular with such a descent.

About 60 riders left in the peloton
Which big names are stil there? Any who have dropped out?

I think Purito is already been dropped

Are you sure?

No, but i haven't seen him yet. Only Mamykin and a taller Katusha guy. There's another left, though. Maybe it's him. But i don't think so.

But i also didn't see any tweets that he has been dropped. Which i think they should do with a 2 time winner of this race.

I ain't got no clue what's De Cauwers point about a recognizable parcours at the Tour of Lombardy. We already got that at the Ardennes classics and it leads to pretty predictable racing. I'm kinda happy that Lombardy becomes the climbers classic nowadays. While with his ever changing route it offers big entertainment since calculated racing's harder with different contenders, cols and tactics each time. Especially with still an edition for the likes of Big Phil every now and then. Imho good job by the organizers!

Only British Eurosport, the international channel starts at 15:45, only an hour or so
