Why the **** do they keep showing the crash?

Cos it's RAI. They thought it was a good idea to do a massive zoom in on Weylandt's swollen, purple obviously dead face, this is nothing to them.

Gilbert is always very strong in this part of the Lake always the race has passed here..once he won the race, but without the wall...this time the wall was quite slow, so he has his options...

Civiglio is quite hard so everybody will be selected there, and San Fermo to define the result.

He's clearly a decoy/setup man for Martin/Alaphilippe, but if he gets to the finish with Cherel, DeMarchi and Bilbao he's a clear favourite, so with <30km to go it's a very good decoy.

I just thought they'd have learned from the criticism they got after doing that... :(
Nothing gory or explicit here, just a rider and bike going over the edge. Nothing at all wrong with showing that.

Dont worry, RAI dont make exceptions. Italy is a country where the Mafia shoot people in the street in front of family and the public.

what the hell has that got to do with this race?

Gilbert is going for the win....he is no decoy imo

Obviously if the break stays away he's going for the win, but you have to say with 2 climbs to go it's unlikely they will make it all the way. So the next best thing is forcing teams like FDJ and Bahrain to chase while EQS's 2 other potential winners get to sit on and follow wheels.
