Mega ride from Pogi. Bizarre from everyone else just watching him ride away in a descent. I'm guessing pogi has been practicing but still 30+ seconds is wild. And then to think that arguing with one another on the flat they will bring him back.

Cycling logic kills me, it is the embodiment of classic game theory where the dominant strategy is always to cheat on collaboration in the hope you come out on top, which basically guarantees you are screwed.

Dno what Roglic is thinking. Its like Quintana at the Peyresourde in 2016, total lack of attention.
I think he was just spent at the top of Ganda.

Lapse of concentration. Pog got 10m and thats where his race instincts kicked in. He went all in from there to get 15 seconds.

Roglic tried to close the gap, but then fell down the group all of a sudden. I think he may gotten cramp as well, right at that moment.

Gap goes up as Vlasov and then mostly Rodriguez lead the charge on the descent.

A lone rider who has ridden away is always favored at the end of a hard race like this. Nobody has left what it takes to bring it back on their own and nobody will put in the work needed to bring it back. Cooperation will rarely work.

Pog was strong but not so much stronger than everyone else. He won because of great tactics from UAE with A. Yates and him just being a great racer/rider.

Getting 3rd was a good performance and result for Roglic the way it played out in the end.

Congrats to Teddy on his 3rd consecutive Lombardy! First since Campionissimo Coppi to get the consecutive treble (Fausto actually won 4 in a row and 5 overall).

While the result was kinda expected the way the race unfolded not necessarily. At some point of Ganda both Pog & Rog found themselved behind the attackers and Pog looked to be in trouble. It was a bluff though and soon he catapulted ahead of Primoz, cought the attackers and counter-attacked. However, Vlasov turned out to be strong enough and kept up with Pog but they couldn't get the decisive advantage. Teddy didn't look at his very best uphill. OTOH Primoz (who wasn't on his best day and couldn't match surges) was gradually accelerating and managed to bridge the gap at the end. It costed him a lot though and he found himself in troubles on the flattish section. Then a surprise happened: Pog attacked again! What initially was a small "accidental" margin changed into a serious attack in an unexpected section. No energy conserving for the sprint, just going for it. It turned into a great solo ride to the finish. The chasers didn't cooperate well enough and didn't have a lot in tank as well. The rest is history.

Pog's descent today was light years better than his descent 2 years ago. He clearly had practised there (he even mentioned the difference vs 2 years ago in an interview).

I think it says a lot when Bagioli is up there fighting for a podium spot. Vlasov also seemed to blow up after catching Pogacar. Kron 10th!? What!
Bagioli has always had big potential.

He has been very unlucky with crashes and injuries but still showed he can be a winner at this level.

It just been a question of when will he arrive. I think he just did this week. A big confidence boost for him personally and Lidl-Trek looks like they have made a real transfer coup here.
