The race is 238km. My advice to Remco is to attack at 239km from the finish.

There was a time when Remco bulked up significantly. I think this is his optimal weight to beat Tadej in races (precisely before the start, as you suggested). No Fatco, no Slimco but Muscleco. Oumi would be delighted as well.

Hum... I think Pogacar will attack earlier. You can't gain a lot in 1.8 km (probably 20"). I think he will not risk to be just 20" ahead with 30 km to the finish.

Looking to this profile, he will attack with 5 km to the top of Ganda.

I'm having a very hard time to even invent a scenario where any other rider than Pog can win this race. So I guess I won't watch the race, unfortunately.
  • Like, there is no way you can isolate Pog early in the race with his strong UAE team probably best placed to isolate all other team leaders.
  • There is no good 'flat' part in between the climbs where tactical attacks could happen / riders create a gap that's big enough to survive the next climb.
  • There is not one good climb before Ganda that could be used to attack, create a gap and start with an advantage and relatively fresh at Ganda and survive with Pog to the top.

You could have decent km of flat roads or good climbs before Ganda, it wouldn't matter against UAE.

They are likely to bring this team:
Pogacar
Del Toro
Yates
Majka
Covi
Sivakov
One more rider (imagine if it's McNulty).

UAE should bring Juanito. He already declared help for Remco so the race would be a bit more exciting.

Are we all forgetting he has attacked Ganda early both times

TBH I totally forgot.
