Some all time low performances by some riders despite it being 2025. Long season taking it's toll.

Something tells me the km 0 breakaway wouldn't make it to the top 5 of the final result if this was earlier in the season.
This race has always kind of been this way though; nothing new. That said it's what makes Pog's form all the more remarkable, Strade until now, pretty amazing.

PERIOD.

Back in high school there was a website that was all the rage. You would be there minding your own business when in front of your eyes a giddy teenage boy would thrust an image of an elderly gentleman from behind, on his knees, hands on his arse, anus fully agape the size of a rugby ball.

Was I present at the time the image was shown? Yes.

Did I view the image? Unfortunately also yes.

Was I entertained by the image? Can't say I was.

Roglic beaten by Michael Matthews in Il Lombardia after preparing specifically for this part of the season. Sheesh...
Tried to peak for the Worlds and then it just went downhill from there. Also just blew up trying too hard in the fist half of Ganda.

Almost the exact same thing as he did the last time he didn't race the Vuelta. Look good in Lombardia at 40km to go, blow up shortly after.

Pog thanks Majka for his service with 5th win of Giro di Lombardia.

I had mixed feelings about R.Majka joining UAE since he was known for selfish riding with Contador in the past. But apparently Pog was fully satisfied with Pole as a domestic.
I don't know if you can get Mexican algorithm stuff where you are at, but Isaac Del Toro has said multiple things about Rafal Majka being a big motivation and someone who was pushing him before Giro breakout.
Majka is very personable and professional from what I took away from it.
Del Toro seems to have a soft spot for McNulty, Majka and Pogacar for pushing him to work hard.
Some of the stuff is on Facebook and Instagram.

So Teddy wins, surprise! A miracle didn't happen: Remco couldn't catch him, the biggest legends Merckx & Coppi didn't take part and Masnada needed warp speed on Ganda descent to have a chance (didn't happen).

Pogacar completes another historic, merxian season. 5th consecutive win at a given monument (first ever), podiums at all 5 monuments of the year (first ever) plus TdF, WC and other important wins on top of that. It's his 10th monument win, he's the third ever to reach this milestone (after Merckx and De Vlaeminck), he also tied Coppi's record of 5 Lombardia wins.

Congrats to Remco on his 2nd place. Way behind but also way ahead of the rest. Not the first time we see this. Congrats to Storer on his podium spot and to Simmons on a great performance an the 4th place (too bad he missed the podium after so courageous ride).

we learned today that Del Toro is not the second best rider in the world. Not even close.

Bruyneel was talking out of his rear
Definitely not yet. The trajectory is good, though.

I'd have him as third among all-arounders:
  1. Pogacar
  2. Evenepoel
  3. Del Toro
And maybe 6th for classics.
  1. Pogacar
  2. MVdP
  3. Evenepoel
  4. Pederson
  5. Ganna
  6. Del Toro
And then in that 5-10 group of GC riders with Lipowitz, Onley, Yates, etc.)

Congrats to Pogacar for taking the all time record. Was the Pogi & Remco show with Remco the supporting actor as expected. 4 UAE riders in the top 11 finishers.

How much did the moto incident add to the final margin ?

Nice Ride by Michael Storer. Nobody was mentioning his name before he race. In this era podium finishes in monuments actually mean something. Some very strong riders behind him.

Michael Storer is actually first among humans IMO.
