He didn't win three races. Only one. Stage wins =/= Race wins.

But I'll give ya that he was losing consistently over the season until today when he actually won a race.

You are right. Purito is such a big loser who completely sucks.

You got a few riders, like Rodriguez and Cancellara and no matter what they do you will bash them anyways. It's a bit sad really.

Have people really entirely forgotten the first half of this season?

Oman, podium @Tirreno, Criterium International, Romandie, Dauphiné, none of them take place in July
Indeed. Until July he was by far the most dominant rider in the world. I don't know how you could argue against that. After that it was pretty much over, but yeah, what do you expect.

Rodriguez has had a good run, and fair play to him. The winner of the WT doesn't have to be the best rider of the season.

Sagan was by far the most dominant rider of the spring. Also Cancellara was pretty dominant, mainly in the classics. Same goes for Rodriguez, who unlike Froome, contested in the Ardennes. Betancur was pretty good too in the spring+Giro

Of those you mentioned only Froome and Canc were dominating.

You don't dominate when you lose.

A rider can be dominant in the sense that he's there to animate races in almost any race he participates in. But yes, if you only count for wins, it might be fair to say that Froome was more dominant that Rodriguez in the spring. Sagan, however, had a streak of wins in the sprng even though he lost the great monuments

There are many angles from which you can judge a rider of the year title. It is not just the wins that matter. The UCI World Tour ranking is made for a reason and until better ranking system comes along we should stick with it. Everything else is personal opinion.

Rodriguez was the most consistent across all types of races hence he tops the points. Even if Froome raced the result would have been the same. Valverde also had a good season. I suppose if Froome won the points some people would have been even more sour. The big question for 2014 will be: can Andy and Contador get back to the top ?
