This weekend we visited my cousin who has an Ipad.

My son (16) loved it and wants one.

My husband and I also played with it and seriously considered getting one. But we finally decided against it. We each have a computer and a laptop (at least one each), and just don't see what the Ipad could do that we don't have now.

Plus you cannot type on it if you have any fingernails at all.

Just bought a Macbook and don't really know what an iPad could have done for me that the laptop cannot do. Except draw teenagers to me like flies, which I want like I want road rash. Now the iPhone, that looks cool. Might get one of those in about 5 years when the cost vs features equation becomes rational.

the Macbook gives you computing power and the option to run multiple programs at a cost. the iPad is a media viewer available at a fraction of the cost of a Macbook if you don't need 'computing' power. Of course, other laptops are available :D

+1 on Apple pricing.
