Is anyone running the 11-28 OG1090 SRAM cassette 53/39?

Getting a new groupo and I see this 11-28 listed as an option.

Getting old and standing close to the buffet plate these days. wouldn't mind a dinner plate cog on my cassette

No pully rub?

How does it shift for you?

It works just fine as long as it's set up right, ie, correct length chain.

I occasionally use the 1070 11-28 with a 53-39, Shimano 105 derailleurs. Shifts fine, as long as the chain length is right.

As for the OG1090, really, save your money, the 1090 has nothing to offer over the 1070 but prestige.

Sort of like DA cassettes vs Ultegra (well 30grams of difference).

You're going to have to add 2-4 chain links (they obviously have to be added in pairs). And, as is the case with most set-ups, never ride in the 53-28 gear.

I have it on my bike (and share your tale of woe) SRAM Force set-up, even can cheat a 32 on the back for extreme hills like California Death Ride. Then back to the 11-28 for general stuff. Shifts well, and nice to have granny even if you don't use . . .
