If I can't present the route profile, I can at least ask an important question. :p Is Aru going to be in pink before the TT and destroy Contador's record of never having lost in jersey in a GC.

On paper, it looks like a stage for Gerrans, Ulissi and Gilbert. But I think we are going to see some GC action. If Aru wants the stage, he is gonna get it. Unless Contador (who has a nice punch as well) can stop him.

I think the stage will be similar to this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnfHGjAWAaA

Small gaps between the favorites, but gaps. Aru only needs a 3rd place to win the pink jersey due to bonus seconds. What do you think?

As I said in the race thread Alberto should do an attack like today, to keep the jersey :p even if the bonus seconds are gone because of a break there might still be gaps

It looks like it's 700m @ 10% without any flat at the top, so it should suit Contador.

But he has sprinted well so far ;)
Yeah, Aru is the best uphill sprinter of the GC guys.

I think Contador should take this stage very seriously. Starting behind a Aru (who could have improved in the TT) is not ideal.

What do you mean with that? LOL That aru is gonna catch contador? xD

Besides give me a result that shows aru's ITT is so improved?

And contador did an uphil sprint today, aru got destroyed.

We don't know if his ITT is improved or not. He could be better than excepted.

Aru has beaten Contador all the time in the uphill sprints of this Giro. But Contador could be bluffing.

Well, it's a bit tricky because Contador got trapped at stage 5 and sunday he was surprised and it wasn't quite an uphill finish. (stage 8 wasn't a true sprint)
Tomorrow is gonna be about positioning yourself at the bottom more than ever beaucause the climb is so short.

I actually think that Contador could gain time over Aru.

Both weren't really uphil sprints, the gradient was barely something. Besides 10% is something completely different.

Let's see. I think Contador wants to prove that he is stronger than Aru.

He could prove that already on stage 12.

Contador will gain time.

The fact there are no Purito or Valverde in this race, makes the chance slimmer there will be gaps between the big guys on this climb. If one of those two guys would be here, Aru could follow their attack, and got more out of his kick then doing it by himself.

I think it's more likely that Contador puts time in Aru than the other way around. Heck, AC might even win the stage.

I don't think Contador would mind losing the jersey to a break or even in the ITT but I think he will see it as important not to lose it to Aru prior to the TT for psychological reasons. So I think he'll try everything to make sure he doesn't lose it tomorrow, including sending teammates up the road if bonus seconds are at stake and a pre-emptive strike of his own. I think the bonus seconds will probably be moped up non-GC men though.

I do think he would mind, DS Lars Michaelsen said they wanted to give away the jersey but Contador did not want to :D

No, Aru, no..... not in this Giro. Try races in which Contador is not on the start list. You might stand a chance.

I was predicting the first real Aru vs. Contador duel today.
Ok, Contador destroyed Aru today. Wasn't excepting that.

Aru is not a super rider with rain, so bad they for him. A bad thay as today in Mortirolo stage and you lose 2 minutes, I hope anyway he will be ok to attack in the mountains.

If he doesn't get better he'll loose 5' on Mortirolo stage. Had 20 or so riders in front of him and at least 4 were his teammates.. .
