Hung jury = waste of taxpayers' money ;)

everyone loses except jerk BB

I think they do the trial over again if hung.
Not a win for BB really?

The jury could be deciding how many guilty verdicts
to supply to court with. Possible?

Sure it is possible.
But I've been saying that BB will be found guilty slam dunk.
Just seems to be taking longer than I thought....

Do Doping Charges Tarnish Sports Giants' Legacies?

Pictures of Lance; stories of Barry...oh, it's all just so intertwined these days.
Radio interview with Bill Strickland that oscillates between cycling and baseball call-ins. What a beautiful dance.
This thread? That thread? Who cares anymore.

As the number of tainted sports stars has climbed, Goldman says "doping fatigue" has set in for increasing numbers of fans. "I hear a lot in my reporting that people don't care so much any more."

Thanks for the link. Just wondering about Bonds and Armstrong. Out of all the people that call or called themselves fans of both men were fans of the specific sport of each man. The article says that cycling fans are concerned. LA has 1000's of non-cycling fans ,Barry has 1 non-baseball fan,his mom

Kudos to his trainer and REAL friend Greg Anderson for taking the heat and doing the time!

We should all be so fortunate.

Fortunate as in well-paid? My guess at this point is that Bond's will need to plea to something on those counts or risk a re-trial. Anderson is getting old in jail and may up his ante.

retrial?

My bet is no retrial unless the last minute tape really shows the doc talking PEDs with Hoskins. Justice has been served and they took a good fair run at him. Problem is that I can't see why a new trial would be any different.

That's a great point and if the tape does show the topic was discussed Bond's should settle, close the deal and then show Mr. Anderson the depth of his friendship.
A new thread could speculate on the amount he'd pay. I'd peg that at zero.

I think that's going to depend on whether Greg is released or not upon "conclusion" of this trial. If the feds can find a compelling reason to keep him locked up - and so far they've been pretty successful at this, who knows how long he'll sit there and rot. But the initial ruling was that when the trial was completed, he'd be back out on probation. We'll see.

Greg was released last week

Well, that answer that! And as I said, what a true friend. I'm sure he and Barry will soon be playing golf on the Florida greens, or laying on beaches, sipping pina coladas.

How about a Livestrong charity ride?

Barry Bonds is going to ride Lance bareback in the first annual Ride for the Hoeses.

WoW......I doubt Barry does any time in jail for this.

What is obvious is that this case has nothing to do with what will happen to LA.

To bad for the hate... it is a major lose lose lose situation. Only one win.

Maybe instead of he-said she-said, they should build cases around actual evidence of doping?

Guilty of obstruction of justice.

hughmoore said:
I havent been following this much, but has Bonds tested positive?

He only been convicted of obstruction as I see it?

Wheres the smoking gun?

Bonds has been found guilty of obstruction of justice.

The smoking gun, is that he has confessed to using PEDs (no positive needed).

The doc's testimony might be considerably different when he is looking down the barrel of a perjury indictment.

Bonds has been shown to not be very bright. A payoff to Anderson could be bring future charges.

SI Report

In room full of confident people used to winning, there were only losers.
The government's semi-failure in its pursuit of Bonds, however, is sure to embolden others, such as Roger Clemens, whose trial on charges that he lied to Congress is scheduled to begin in July. Lance Armstrong, who is under federal investigation, might also feel a little more invincible (if that is possible) post-Bonds trial.
