Is it now a liability to sign UK and Aussie riders?

I wonder if the trend of "national" pro teams will make it a liability for teams to sign young talent from non-native nations?

It seems that if a team works to develop a talent, say Cavendish, and they blossom, instantly they're targets for Sky, Leopard, etc.

Just wondering how this is all going to play out.....

Blossoming talent will always be sought after by other teams especially if the rider has better support and opportunities on the other team so this can happen with any rider and not just aussies and brits. I think all you can do is treat your riders right, sign long contracts and hope for some loyalty which you'll hopefully get if you treat them right.

Maybe, but did not stop OPL picking up future star Adam Blythe.

Riders will go were the best oppertunity for them is, a team that has the best national talent may not give a rider the oppertunity they need.
