come on, pasty albinos gotta hit up the Canaries in spring to work on tan lines, the bikini line upkeep, and a chaser of 800 ml red cells spun off packed in metrical volume.

o2 ftw

hema hema hema

u reckon that is the right hue, not yet coagulated like stefan matschiner's bernhard kohl's bloodbags bb in the ryanair overhead storage from vien to Paris 1 airport.

moral of the story, dont fly cheap mick

:D

Stream of consciousness poetry.
Reminded me of Dylan's 'Tarantula' (he who caved and accepted the Nobel... the pussy!)

I need some of what you're taking please...

So there is your answer to "Is Philippe Gilbert Doping"? You have to ask, would a guy who is doping skip the Paris-Roubaix to rest and recover? The answer is no.
The answer is yes. The question is whether he dopes, not whether he is magical.

Don't know what either of these posts mean. Very funny couplet for some reason. :D

Is everyone smoking crack around here?...

But Yes! The answer is Yes!

Yeah, it's not very busy yet. It will get louder in there during Romandie and get really loud during the Giro.

It's normal for it to be a little slow when the Grand Tours aren't being raced and there's no headlines to discuss.

Sniper will be back at some point when there's something good to talk about. He would have told me if he was quitting the forum, which he has not done. (yet?)

Edit: As for the clinic being quiet because of bans... That's not the case, you can look at the suspension thread and see that there's nobody that posts regularly in the clinic serving a ban at the moment.

Yes, maybe he's skipping PR merely to rest and recover better, but that would still be a perfectly good reason to skip it while doping. Regardless, there's ample precedent of dopers skipping particular races specifically to avoid in-competition tests so that they can dope that much better for their next objective.

In other words, Gilbert's skipping PR tells us zilch one way or the other.

So Gilbert in the form of his life has just won Flanders and skips PR to recover. The Paris Roubaix is the most prestigious one day race in cycling. The posters here will say that the guy is juiced to the gills, which I doubt. If he was then why would he forgo Paris Roubaix ?

Because he's only raced it once, and his greatest successes have been in the Ardennes?

Cheers Irondan. Didn't know there was seasonal ebbing and flowing here. Was wondering if there had been a mass migration or something.

Fun and games soon then...

It's generally more busy during the Tour than any other time during the year, by a factor of A LOT. The rest of the time the volume of comments is relative to the content of current headlines and big races. Everything in between is mostly regulars that post year round.

Finished 52nd only time he's ridden it. But he did say on Sunday that he wants to win all 5 monuments he's not getting any younger so I'd have thought with the 'form' shown last Sunday would help for this Sunday. But maybe he's saving the special super form for 2018 Roubaix.

For what it's worth, today I met my doctor who happens to be a huge cycling fan.
He has ridden the climbs of Le tour and has the jerseys to show for it. We also shared our experience of riding Mt Lemon in Tucson Arizona.
Turns out he didn't watch De Ronde, but he laughed when I told him what happened.
He says pretty much what everyone here already knows. The riders are on some next level *** and are willing to be guinea pigs, no matter what the cost.
With that said, let's stop asking if so and so is doping. Of course they are.
This is a public service announcement brought to you by fans of Carlton Kirby.

Over in Belgium last weekend. Punctured car tyre so found a place in Kortrijk for a new one. Chatting to the fellow at the counter about the RVV and what an impressive performance from Gilbert.

Man behind counter, "Ah, well, he had the right medication yesterday, obviously"

So, there you have. Gilbert is doping.

Cheers, I thought it was a year round regulars sorta thing.
Goddamn obsession with the Tour. The racing highlights of the season are the Classics innit.

Sometimes the comedy highlights are the Classics too...hello Phillippe. :)

I have no doubts that Gilbert is likely running some high octane stuff but there is nothing I hate worse than recreation level riders who have done a sportive or 2 throwing out doping allegations based on their own abilities or lack there of. Plenty of guys I've ridden with who have an impressive resume of t-shirt rides who assume everyone with fitness is doping but don't ever really train and can't hang onto an A group ride.

That's a good point as well. It seems in the PRR section, most think it was the team's decision based on it being Tom's last P-R. Who knows. At least we'll have some fine racing throughout the springtime.

Hey there, therhodeo.
Sorry to get up in your grill, but you just asserted the same thing I was saying--i.e. Gilbert is surely on the gear.
I don't have to be a world class cyclist to come to the same conclusion as you.

So Gilbert is saving his secret stash of doping products in his closet and blood bags, EPO, AICAR, in his refrigerator, and at the same time he is circumventing the Biological Passport, blood tests and urine tests like Houdini and saving it all for the 2018 Parix Roubaix. Get real. His performance at Flanders was exceptional and give him some credit for he is an exceptional athlete, and definitely not a doped one.

While there is some possibility that you could be correct and he is clean, however incredibly remote (in my view), this claim stands up to no test of logic. It's not possible to assert that he is definitively clean. No way to know this.

As if a pro athlete would dope in this day and age.... Just not possible ;)
