Honest question. All I have seen is this photo, and no context for it or explanation of it. Seems curious.

All I know is what is in the link to the article, which doesn't seem to be about the picture, unless Google Translate has failed me again.

I assume it's from yesterday's cobble stage, since the article is from yesterday and about that stage. But I can't tell for sure whether there are race numbers on the Garmin guy or any other giveaway signs about it being from the race or a separate training session on another day.

I truly am curious about the photo, and whether there's something to it or not. Thought the forum readers may have some ideas or info.

Edit - Duh! There are no bikes on top of the car. Must be from some other day. Odd choice for the website to put with the article though. Guess I fell for it.

Considering that there are no other riders, fans, or such, and that the rider is not wearing a number on his back... nor is there a driver of the Radioshack car...

the photo credit says that it was at the Tour. But it is not referenced in the article, no context to it.

I thought it looked like there was a driver in the car. And there are a few cars parked in the field. Couldn't tell about race numbers. But I definitely missed the fact that there are no bikes on the roof. That should have been a big honkin' giveaway!

There is a reason I put this thread in the clinic. Two riders in the Tour are cooperating with the authorities (Landis investigation) and didn't want their names released for fear of retribution during the Tour. It was in the NY Times article.

Read the thread - we've figured out it's apparently not a race photo. Not sure why the website chose to put that picture with the article instead of an image from the actual stage though.

There is mud next to the cobblestones - this is probably not from the dusty 3rd stage in the 2010 TdF.

Never mind the website, I can't understand why you even started this thread. You post some random, obviously photoshopped, picture of an empty vehicle and an unamed, un-numbered Garmin rider and try to link it to the Landis investigation?? What the hell is that about!! Did you even watch the stage? If you had you may have noticed that it was a sunny day unlike the day in your fail photo.

Pretty sad really.

This was shot on May 27, 2010 during the reconnaissance for the espoirs (young riders) Paris - Roubaix. No way from any race or stage (no number plate on rider) and definitely not from stage 3 of the 2010 Tour (where are the spectators??!).

what's photoshopped? not the bike and the car seems to be moving as it looks like there is mud falling of the rear left wheel and a slight exhaust fume coming off the back....its a top photoshop job if it is one and the reason is mystifying????

simple explanation out there somewhere no doubt.....
