Congratulations to Primož Roglič for winning the ITT with style.

Having GC ambitions you needed to do good on the opening ITT and Rogla did just that. That slight detour at the end, that is just classy Rogla. Hopefully Remco didn't injure himself and Jonas likely already thinking about stage 6. Hope that Pidcook gets well soon.

As for stage two, there is a slight ramp at the end so i wouldn't be surprised if GC guys will need to stretch their legs today in addition to avoiding crashes.

Does anyone know how the last 15km are today in terms of exact profile and how twisty the roads are? Because looking at the stage profile you normally don't expect anything other than a mass sprint but knowing Itzulia they often have these up and down small and twisty roads where draft plays less of a role and the peleton is quite stretched. So possibly any chance for a rouleur move?

here's an interactive profile (need to change to km in settings). There's a bonus sprint with only 9k to go and quite a bit of up and down afterwards. The roads look alright, but I'd still think a successful attack/reduced sprint is fairly likely.

According to the roadbook it's for anyone "born in or after 2002".

For the record; each time either of those wo have created a gap and backed off of work late in a race it was so they could cross the line with a gap to the sucker that pulled. They would both turn inside out to close on Remco if their teams had exhausted themselves.

I am really referencing races like Paris Nice Stage 1 2023 when Tadej and Jonas had a gap on the rest of the field after the 1st intermediate sprint and Jonas wouldn’t pull through. Same kinda thing with Remco and Roglic in stage races last year. I think that having 3 or 4 threats in the TDF might give Remco an ally on a long attack. Maybe he could pull something off this week.

I think you misinterpreted his post? He is talking about Roglic and Vingegaard not working when they themselves are along in the break. Not when they are left behind and have teammates to close the gap. And it certainly wasn't just late in the race or in order to gap the sucker that pulled. It is exactly how Vingegaard lost a good chance to win Itzulia in 2022, by refusing to ride when he was in a break. So nobody else in the break worked, break got caught, and Vingegaard finished 6th in GC a few days later.
